Our Divided Country


I understand that the divide in this country is getting wider. It has almost gotten to the point of no return. Why, is the big question. Why are we so divided? Why can we not repair the damage done? Why can we not discuss our differences instead of trying to silence the opposite view? Why is one side ignoring the Constitution, or interpreting it to mean what they want? Why are our morals and values being destroyed? Why? Why? Why?

It is painful for me to watch this great country devolve into a quagmire of deceit, deception, intolerance, and violence. Not since the Civil War has the country been so divided as to have brother against brother, father against son, mother against daughter, and friend against friend. Our Congress is against the President in everything he does or tries to do. They will not give him credit for any of his accomplishments such as: the lowest unemployment rate in recent history, highest employment rate for women and minorities in history, the largest tax cut in history, trade deals that are great for America, getting rid of the ISIS leader and giving the credit to the military that did the work, putting America first in all things, exposing the corruption and the greed of politicians and the Deep State, etc.

If you read the Federalist Papers, the Federalist Farmer letters, and the Constitution you will see that what we have for a government now is not what the Founding Fathers envisioned. Point in fact, it is exactly what they feared the most. We have a Congress that is so partisan that the impeachment proceedings are one-sided against the President. The Democrats have all the power; the Intelligence Committee is leading the inquiry instead of the Judiciary Committee; the Chairman of the Committee has final say in who is interviewed, what the witnesses can be asked, who can be present, and what can be brought forth as evidence; the accuser is being kept secret and not allowed to be interviewed in person; only selective information is being leaked to the press; worst of all, the American people are being kept in the dark. The Founders did not want to include impeachment into the Constitution for this very reason.

We have Congressmen/women that have served for thirty, forty, even fifty years. This is, again, not what the Founders envisioned. They envisioned a Congress that would serve for a term or two then return to the real world, their real life, their real job. Why? Because our representatives needed to keep in touch with their constituents. To realize the ramifications of their legislation; to keep Congress from becoming too powerful. We, the People, and Congress determined that a President could serve only two terms so as not to become too powerful, to become a monarch. Isn’t it time that the real power in Washington, in our government, be subjected to the same limitation? The President can do nothing permanent without the consent of Congress. Congress can overrule the President, even if he vetoes legislation, simply by casting another vote. As has been proven in the last three years, Congress can overrule the President by using a Circuit Court that is sympathetic to their cause. This is too much power for any group of people.

The Founders did not want a large government that could rule over the country. They wanted a limited centralized government that had limited power over the people. The States had the power over their citizens, not the Federal Government. Today, we have hundreds of thousands of federal employees in hundreds of agencies, offices, and committees that can ‘legislate’ without being elected. This is the Deep State; those that have not been elected yet have the power to control the citizen’s actions. Who are these people? They are employees of the EPA, DHS, DNR, Commerce Commission, FMCSA, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, etc. These people are not elected to any office but have the authority and power to enact laws that we, the People, are subject to regardless of whether we agree or not.

What are some of these laws? We now must ask permission to hunt or fish and pay for that right. We must ask permission to build a house and pay a fee to do so. We are required to secure our children in car seats up to a certain age. We are limited in our speed on the roads. We must watch what we say (political correctness is of utmost importance – we cannot, under any circumstances, offend anyone). It doesn’t matter what action it is; it is either 1) regulated, 2) taxed, or 3) illegal. This is 95% due to the Deep State and its ability to enact law without debate, consent, or vote by elected representatives.

What does all this have to do with the country being so divided? There are two ideologies at work in the United States; one being Constitutional originalists that believe the Constitution is set in stone and the law of the land. These conservatives also believe in a free market, capitalist economy and limiting government control. The other side believes that the Constitution is a living document meant to be interpreted with every passing fancy, a large, controlling government that the people depend upon, and a Socialist economy that redistributes wealth from those that have, to those that have-not.

The United States grew to be the world’s wealthiest nation by people that were innovators, believers, doers. If Edison hadn’t believed he could make money with his inventions, we probably wouldn’t have the electric light bulb. If Bell hadn’t seen that there would be profit made, we wouldn’t have had the telephone. Ford wouldn’t have created the assembly line for automobile manufacturing. We wouldn’t have gone to the moon. Capitalism and the free market are what encourages innovation. In a little over a hundred and twenty-five years, this country grew to the nation that the world looked to for everything. We had the strongest military, the strongest economy, the greatest inventors, and in a lot of ways, the greatest thinkers. All this is due to our freedoms, our rights as citizens, our values of compensation for effort and work. In short, because we were a capitalist society with little government regulation or control over the people.

There has never been a successful, strong nation that was socialist or communist. Socialism does not encourage innovation or even participation. When the government gets its hands into anything bureaucracy strangles creativity to the point of creativity, innovation, and invention being almost non-existent. Almost. There will always be government-sponsored innovation, but it is shadowed, by far, by the innovations of a free society. Yes, the Russians were the first to put a ship into space, but it was the Americans that were first to put a man into space and to land on the moon. True, the Chinese have developed some pretty good tech, but it doesn’t match the quality of that produced by the United States.

The far-left would have us become a socialist state with the government controlling our healthcare, all our schools, how our homes are built, how much money we can make and where that money would go, what kind of energy we use, car we drive, what we eat, etc. The far-left wants to regulate what companies can charge for their products, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. True, healthcare is expensive and needs to be more consumer-friendly. How do you do that? Less regulation and more free market. Competition is what brings about lower costs and better service. I don’t mean that drug companies, hospitals, clinics, doctors and nurses shouldn’t be licensed and certified as competent. I’m saying that if they weren’t so regulated by policy that there would be more competition in the field and that would lower costs. It isn’t like the FDA doesn’t allow harmful drugs to be distributed to the public. There are hundreds of drugs that have side effects worse than the disease they treat.

The radical left would like to do away with fossil fuels. Oil and gas are what drives the world. Without using petroleum products how would consumer goods be shipped? I really don’t think a solar-powered semi-truck would get the job done as efficiently as a diesel-powered one. With the world being as mobile as it is, how would people travel? Do we go back to sailing across the oceans in ships such as the Mayflower? Do we return to the days of the steam engine train to travel across the nation? Do we go back to the horse and buggy and stagecoach? If the radical left gets their way we will have to; they want to do away with cars, planes, trucks, cruise liners, cargo ships, and trucks.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would like to retrofit all existing buildings, including homes, in the nation to make them totally green with no carbon footprint. Not only would that be fiscally impossible, what is she planning on heating and cooling those buildings with? I don’t think those high rises in New York City have enough roof space for solar panels to run the light, heat, and air conditioning, as well as all the electronics that today’s society depends upon. As for wind generators, well, it takes more energy to construct them than what they would save in their useful lifetime. Ms. Cortez has not come up with any viable solution as of yet. The Green New Deal is nothing more than a way to change the economic structure of our nation to one of government control over private ownership.

The division of the country gets even wider as each day goes by just by actions of the far-left Democrats and the liberal media propagandists. As Democrats commit crime after crime and get away with them without even a slap on the wrist, President Trump is being impeached on nothing more than doing his job. What Rep. Adam Schiff is doing in the way of investigating a supposed quid pro quo is actually a way for the Democrats to get as much dirt on the President as they can on the taxpayer’s dollar for the election. They are doing everything they can to find a crime that he has committed while actual crimes committed by Democrats are going totally ignored.

With the 24/7/365 propaganda against the President by mainstream media and our elected Democrat representatives in Congress, the people of the nation are being torn apart. The liberal voters are taking whatever is fed to them as truth no matter what it is (as long as it is against the President) while conservatives are questioning everything. If a conservative tries to inform a liberal with facts on a subject, that liberal ignores those facts and continues on with their emotional rant. It doesn’t seem to matter that Hillary Clinton obviously engaged in obstruction of justice by smashing phones with hammers, destroying emails, and removing SIM cards that were subpoenaed by Congress. It doesn’t seem to matter that the Clinton campaign and the Obama DOJ engaged in spying on the Trump campaign and using foreign operatives to get negative information on an opposition party. It doesn’t seem to matter that the DOJ lied to the FISA court to obtain warrants against Americans. It doesn’t matter that Joe Biden bragged, on tape, that he engaged in a quid pro quo with the Ukrainians to protect his son. All that matters is that Trump be deposed and destroyed in any way possible with accusations of exactly what the Democrats have done. Trump is guilty and the facts against the Democrats are just conspiracy theories. The country divides more.

Over the last forty years, the liberal left has slowly been indoctrinating our young into the socialist way of thinking. The Millennial generation has become almost 100% socialist. GenZ is up for grabs at this point. The problem is this: with liberal indoctrination from kindergarten through college, the people have not been taught what this country was built on. They have been taught that America is the bad guy; that capitalism is unfair; that the feelings of the few outweigh the rights of the many. Kids don’t know what it means to lose, to have their opinions debased, to not get what they want through throwing tantrums. They have been taught that everyone deserves a trophy, that their feelings are more important than the next person’s, that freedom of speech is only for those that agree with them, etc. With this way of thinking contradicting the Constitution and the ideology of the Founding Fathers, the country has become more divided now than during the Civil War. With conservatives on one side fighting for the God-given rights that the Constitution guarantees and the liberals on the other trying to take down everything that America is.

The Republican Party has never had a backbone. The elected representatives have never stood up and faced down the Democrats in Congress no matter what went on. They have always believed in fighting fairly and openly. The Democrats, on the other hand, have fought dirty, low and with no mercy. They would do anything to win. Anything. That is being proven right now, today, with all that is going on in Washington, DC. And as the left fights tooth-and-nail against the right, the country is being torn apart. The sad part about it is that the Democrats, and the left-leaning Republicans, don’t care. They would see our nation totally destroyed just to gain power. What they don’t understand is that if they destroy the country, they will have no one, and nothing, to rule over.

It doesn’t matter which side you are on. You can be a Democrat or a Republican, a conservative or a liberal, a socialist or a capitalist. If you don’t start believing in the United States as a sovereign nation, with immigration laws, Constitutional rights for citizens, equal justice under the law, an unbiased media, and fair elections, then you are part of the problem. You are part of the division of this great nation. If you can’t question what is being shoved down your throat by the media and politicians, and believe all that you read and hear, then you are part of the problem. If you are one of the millions that believe that only the government can fix the problems in the country, then you are part of the problem. We don’t need a huge, unchecked central government. That is not what the Founders wanted. We don’t need to be regulated so tightly that it will get to the point where we have to ask permission to use the restroom, and then worry about who is in there.

The Constitution enumerates the powers of Congress. That is all the power they have; no more, no less. We, the people, have allowed the federal government to grow to such a monstrosity that it will never be the way it was intended. As long as there are those that like the government doing for them, providing for them, thinking for them, we will never truly be the free nation that we started as. We have been divided so much that it has become another Civil War. Not with shot and powder, but with regulation, propaganda, and ideology.

Maybe we can fix the problem without going to a physical war. If we can only return to the founding principles of the nation; if we can go back to the Constitution, as written. Maybe we can heal the nation of the wounds inflicted by dividing ideology. Maybe.

Oh, What A Tangled Web We Weave


“Be careful the chosen path and the webs of practiced deceit, for where they led, all were responsible for the outcome of their fate.

“Good or bad, no one could be blamed save the person who brought favor or destruction down upon their own head.”

Those words by Sherrilyn Kenyon in At Death’s Door makes a lot of sense. Then again, Ms. Kenyon makes a lot of sense in most of her books. This quote is notable now because of where we are in the political arena currently. We have the far-left wing radicals, both Democrat and Republican, that are banging at the door of impeaching President Donald Trump while some are campaigning for the White House next year.

How does the quote match the circumstances? If you think about what is going on in both camps you can figure it out. On the impeachment front, the Democrat chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, has been deceiving the American people for three years with outbursts of having clear evidence against the President. Did he have any evidence? If he did, he should be charged with obstruction of justice because he never brought it forth in any investigation against the President.

After the now-infamous phone call to the new Ukrainian President, Rep. Schiff has announced at least two ‘whistleblowers;’ one of which had no first-hand knowledge of anything the President said. The other supposedly overheard the conversation. Both say that President Trump engaged in a quid pro quo with the Ukrainians by asking if they would look into the corruption scandal of the 2016 election. He didn’t ask for anything in return, just asked for a favor. He also suggested the Ukrainians look into the firing of the head prosecutor in the Burisma Holdings investigation when then-Vice President Joe Biden told them either fire the prosecutor or they wouldn’t get a billion dollars in foreign aid. The problem here is Rep. Schiff is keeping the identity of the whistleblowers a secret and not letting them testify.

Since then, the Speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, has called for a formal impeachment inquiry with Rep. Schiff heading it up. Why would the chairman of the Intelligence Committee head up an impeachment inquiry when that would be more in the Judiciary Committee’s realm? Maybe because Rep. Adam Schiff is not quite on the up and up. He has kept all his interviews secret, behind closed doors. House members are not allowed in to listen and can only read the transcripts of the testimony with one of Rep. Schiff’s staff present. Only he can subpoena witnesses, only he can interview witnesses, witnesses are not to be cross-examined by the Republicans and the President is not allowed to have his attorney present during any interviews.

In other words, for those in California, it is a kangaroo court with a dictatorial, corrupt Representative heading it up.

How does the quote represent the 2020 Democrat presidential hopefuls? Each and every one of them is doing the politician thing spectacularly. They all are espousing the virtues of socialism, denouncing the evils of capitalism, and telling the American public that only the rich are going to pay for all their freebies.

The biggest deceit here is that only the rich will pay. There isn’t enough wealth in the country to pay for all their free stuff; which comes to anywhere from $9 Trillion to $15 Trillion per year. Next is that socialism is so great. Income equality, social justice against capitalism, open borders, abortion on demand even up to, and if wanted after birth. What the Democrats aren’t telling anyone is that all this is, is a stepping stone to a total government takeover of our lives. Socialism is the first step towards communism and communism has never achieved anything, anywhere, anytime, only total power to the government. When they talk about equality for all, they mean equally poverty, starvation, sickness, and hopelessness for everyone; except the privileged elite class that the government deems worthy.

What the far-left radical Democrats, and Republicans, don’t seem to understand is that we, the people of the United States, have tasted freedoms never given to a country’s citizens anywhere in the world. We, alone, have the guaranteed right to keep and bear arms. We have the right to speak out against our government and those that serve in government. We have the right to protest, peacefully. We are protected from unwarranted searches and seizure of our property. We won’t give those rights up willingly. We will use the Constitution as our biggest, strongest weapon. We, the people, are the rightful owners of the courts and government. We will not go peacefully into the night.

To make things better, we have the mainstream media. You know the ones: CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, etc. How are they making things better? It was in April of 2016 that Politico said that Trump needed to be impeached. You read right. Before he got nominated, Politico was saying that he needed to be thrown out of office. After the election in November, the rest followed suit. In less than forty-eight hours after the results of the election came in, “Trump has to be impeached.” It hasn’t stopped since. Every day the mainstream media accuses the President of some manufactured impeachable offense.

For over two years the nation was put through investigations into Donald J. Trump. There was the FBI investigation; the House Intelligence Committee investigation; the Senate Judiciary Committee investigation; and the two-year Mueller investigation. The Democrats knew that Trump had colluded with the Russians to win the election. They knew it. Through all those investigations there was not a shred of evidence that Donald Trump, his campaign, or any of his associates colluded with any Russian to win the election.

Since they couldn’t prove collusion, they decided to accuse him of obstruction of justice. After all, he fired James Comey, head of the FBI, for mishandling information, leaking to the press, and ineptitude. Since he was head of the FBI that had to mean that Trump was trying to end the collusion investigation. Mueller couldn’t prove that, either.

What the Mueller investigation did uncover was that the Clinton Campaign, Hillary Clinton, and the Clinton Foundation had bought a report (the dossier) from a former British spy filled with unverified dirt on Donald Trump from the Russians and/or Ukrainians. There is audio of Rep. Adam Schiff talking to Russians asking for nude photos of Trump and a prostitute. (This was a hoax perpetrated by what sounded like Russians, but Schiff was very eager to obtain these photos.) The Ukrainians admitted to interfering with the elections on request from the Clinton campaign. This has not been investigated by any Democrat committee or organization or the Congress.

Is this what our political parties are becoming? Is deceit, deception, corruption, quest for ultimate power the norm? It seems as though it is. The now formal impeachment inquiry has no chance of removing Donald Trump from office. The Senate knows that there is nothing impeachable that the President has done. They also know that there is nothing Constitutional about the inquiry and that it is being controlled totally by the Democrats. All this is, is a political ploy to undermine Trump’s campaign for the 2020 election.

If you can’t win with policy, cheat. There is no candidate on the Democrat side that would win an election against Trump and all that he has done for the country. With record low unemployment, record-high employment of minorities, record high stock market, historic tax cuts and regulation cuts, effective trade deals, stronger border security, working toward getting us out of endless wars, working toward de-nuclearizing North Korea, etc., the Democrats just can’t compete. They are running on socialism, open borders, abortion on demand (up to and even after birth), free everything for illegal aliens, stacking the Supreme Court, eliminating the Electoral College (thus ensuring Democrat wins because New York, California, and Illinois are the most populated states and are Democrat), and eliminating the Second Amendment.

Rep. Al Greene stated it so eloquently, “The only way to beat Trump is to impeach him.” Rep. Maxine Waters has been screaming (literally) for three years, “Impeach 45!” The mainstream media, which is just the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, has been reporting rumor instead of facts since before the election and parroting the cry for impeachment. Hollywood celebrities have joined in, also. This is a web of enormous proportions against a duly elected President. The far-left radicals, both Democrat and Republican, are doing everything they can to undo the 2016 election and go against the will of the people. The Founding Fathers were terrified of this.

From Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, etc., all the way to Reagan, politicians, conservative celebrities, philosophers, statesmen, authors, and everyday citizens can be quoted saying that we, the people, must be ardent in protecting our freedoms from tyranny and it will be we, the people, that will ultimately allow the government to become so big and so powerful as to be able to take those freedoms from us. The last three years have proven just that. The political machine in Washington, DC has shown just how corrupt it is and how far it will go to protect itself from the people. The Washington elite would rather destroy the entire country than give up their power and wealth. That is why they must get rid of Donald Trump. He is their Waterloo.

Richard Nixon was persecuted by the Democrats. He resigned before his impeachment was over. He committed crimes. Bill Clinton was impeached. The impeachment articles enumerated, I believe, eleven felonies. He was not removed from office. Both of these Presidents were afforded due process. They both had their attorneys present during questioning. They both had the opportunity to have witnesses on their behalf. Witnesses for the prosecution were cross-examined by the defense. Both of these impeachments were public. Point in fact, I can remember Senator Sam Irvine asking John Dean questions on TV.

What are the Democrats giving Donald Trump? Nothing. So far, the witnesses have all been disgruntled, former employees and/or Obama era employees. All interrogations/interviews have been behind closed doors. There has been no cross-examination, no witnesses for the defense, Trump’s attorneys are not allowed, and the public only knows what Rep. Adam Schiff decides to leak. In other words, for those of you in California, there has been no due process afforded President Donald J. Trump. There has been no crime committed. Articles of Impeachment have not been filed or voted on (this is supposed to happen this week). I’ve said it and said it and said it: this is a kangaroo court using communist-style investigating and interrogating/interviewing. Unconstitutional is an understatement.

The web of deceit, of corruption, is enlarging exponentially each day. The far-left radicals will soon learn that their ideology, their insane hatred of the President, the Constitution, conservatives, and the country as a whole will destroy the very thing that they want to control. The United States is on a precipice with one foot on a skateboard and the other hanging over the edge. They will have no one to blame but themselves when the economy collapses under their socialist policies, the government is overrun by the illegal aliens that they are protecting, or they are beheaded by the terrorists that enter the country proclaiming refugee status.

What Are The Congressional Powers


Congress, the elected representatives from each state that is responsible for legislating law. The Founders enumerated, in the Constitution, exactly what the powers of Congress are. Article One, Section Two, Paragraph Five: “The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.” Article One, Section Three, Paragraph Six: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present.” These are important at the moment as the Speaker of the House has declared a formal impeachment inquiry.

The enumerated powers of Congress are in Article One, Section Eight:

The Congress shall have the Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts, and Excises, to pay the Debts and Provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts, and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow Money on the credit of The United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;
To establish Post Offices and post Roads;

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Time to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

To constitute Tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court;

To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;

To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

To provide and maintain a Navy;

To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of Particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; - And

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Those are the powers that Congress has. Any and all other powers are reserved to the several States and the people. Since we, the people, elect our representatives to fulfill these duties, they cannot be delegated to any other persons, offices, agencies, or departments. As I have stated in previous articles, there are a plethora of rules and regulations that are set by the Interstate Commerce Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the EPA, the Department of Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, the IRS, etc. In other words, Congress has delegated legislation to persons, agencies, offices, or departments that have not been elected to represent us in any way. Congress has been derelict in its’ duties.

For the last several weeks, Congress has been trying to get the President to use military force against Turkey for its’ force against the Kurds in Syria. The President cannot do this without the consent of Congress, and they refuse to take a vote on the subject. To make matters worse, Turkey is a NATO member. The United States cannot use military force against a NATO ally without consequences. Article Five of the NATO Charter states that if one member is attacked it is an attack on all members and all members will go to the aid of the attacked nation. If the United States was to attack Turkey, then the other twenty-seven nations would have to come to the aid of Turkey against us. The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives would love for President Trump to do something that inept so they would have good reason to impeach him.

Article Two, Section Four states: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” So far, after four investigations conducted by the FBI, the Senate, the House, and the Special Prosecutor, there has been no crime of any kind committed by the President. Now the House has started another inquiry into some manufactured crime and are conducting interrogations, sorry, interviews, with former employees of the State Department and White House.

All these interviews are being done in secret, in the SCIF room, by Rep. Adam Schiff. He, alone, knows what is being said. The Democrats are the only ones that can subpoena witnesses. The President is not allowed to have his attorney present at any of these interviews, Republicans are not allowed to cross-examine any of these witnesses or call any of their own, and no one is allowed to read the transcripts of these interviews without a Democrat present. In other words, the President is not being afforded due process and only negative testimony is being given.

It was leaked that a Ukrainian official was interviewed and refused to say that the President committed extortion or blackmail, in essence, a quid pro quo, when asking for assistance in an open and ongoing corruption investigation regarding the 2016 election and possible abuse of power, a quid pro quo, by then-Vice President Joe Biden. Rep. Schiff attempted to coerce this official into saying the President did something that he had not done.

The Democrats have been demanding impeachment since Donald Trump was elected. By that, I mean less than forty-eight hours after the election and a month and a half before he was inaugurated. He was not supposed to win the election. He is a Washington outsider. He is not one of the political elites. He isn’t a politician. He is getting things done that our elected officials haven’t for decades. He is ruffling feathers and draining the political swamp of Washington, DC. And the Democrats, and some Republicans, aren’t liking that very much. Thus, this insane obsession to impeach him and get him out of office, or at the very least, keep him from being re-elected to a second term.

Yes, the House of Representatives has the sole power of impeachment – for treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. The Constitution does not say a President can be impeached because the opposing party doesn’t like him. What the Democrats are attempting to do is overturn the 2016 election against the will of the people of the United States. It is a silent coup to take control of the government. Some conservative talk show hosts have theorized that the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and the Chairmen of several committees would like to rid the White House of both President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and make the Speaker President. That would give the Democrats control; at least until next November.

As it is, there is nothing Constitutional about this impeachment. There has been no crime committed; they are searching for something to convict him on. There has been no vote of the whole House for this inquiry. There has been no due process. Rep. Schiff is using banana republic tactics for his kangaroo court. The inquiry was started because of a phone call between heads of state that should have been classified and has since been made public that supposedly proved Trump was forcing the Ukrainians to investigate a political rival, Joe Biden (who is running for President but hasn’t been nominated to be the candidate). The transcript of the call was made public and there was no quid pro quo. The whistleblower is not known to anyone except Rep. Schiff and he is not producing the witness or interviewing him/her. The whistleblower did not have firsthand knowledge but was going on overheard conversations and there have started to be questions as to whether there really is a whistleblower at all. Rep. Schiff declared for two years that he had incontrovertible evidence of Russian collusion, but the Mueller Investigation proved there was no collusion. Rep. Schiff recited, on record, to the House a transcript of the President’s call to the Ukrainian President that was a total fabrication. In a nutshell, Rep. Schiff is a liar and a charlatan; not one to be trusted at all.
