My name is Jay D Evans and I am from the small town of Chariton in South Central Iowa. I grew up here, moved away and returned to my roots to raise my family. Currently an unemployed, I have spent the majority of the last 38 years as a truck driver. As a driver, I spent a lot of time sitting and thinking about everything and nothing. This is where a lot of my ideas come from, watching people, places and things go by out the window of an eighteen wheeler.

Since this was published and I started blogging my rants and ravings, I have changed employers a couple of times. I still reside in Southern Iowa but no longer am employed by Hy-Vee. I quit working there in November of 2013 and started driving for Van Wyk out of Sheldon, Iowa. In June of 2015 I changed, once again, and started driving as a Lease Operator with/for Hirschbach Motor Lines, East Dubuque, Illinois. When I came to work at Hirschbach, I was on a dedicated account with Hy-Vee. This meant that I was pulling their trailers only, with my truck. So, basically I was working for Hy-Vee once again. Weird, huh?

In May of this year I had an accident, the first in a very long time, and was terminated from Hirschbach. I expected it and I hold no grudges over their decision. Since that time, I have been at home trying to keep up with what is going on in the country and around the world. The news cycle is so chaotic at times and, it seems, that with the Biden Administration, even more so. The country is so divided, every policy, every Supreme Court decision, every action taken by anyone in the streets, it all is so polarized.

Over the past five decades I have lived through a lot of different experiences, lived in five states, traveled in Mexico and researched a lot of different philosophies, religions, cultures and mythologies. All of this will, at one time or another, be included in the blogs I post here. Everything here is my opinion, my experiences, my thoughts, fears, hopes and dreams. Some of this will be straight from my soul while some will be straight out of my twisted mind. I will post blogs on politics, religion and, yes, even sex at times. I do research statistics and rumors to find facts from fiction on most subjects that are not total fiction although I cannot always remember where I find the facts. All references that I do have will be cited so that you, the reader, can check up on my research.

Be prepared to laugh, cry, be angry and, sometimes, want to strangle the very air from my lungs for what I write. I am very opinionated on a lot of subjects and I do exercise my Constitutional right to speak my mind. That is the one great thing about living in America- we have the right to disagree. I have always had a rule at my home when discussing anything and that is this: there will be no argument, only discussion. Everyone has his/her own opinion and everyone will listen with an open mind. I follow through with that rule even if no one agrees with me or I, them. We don't learn anything without listening to the other guy with an open mind. You never know, you may learn something you didn't know, whether you like it or not.

So, read on and enjoy. Please leave any comments you want; good, bad or indifferent. It doesn't matter to me. I am not trying to convert anyone to my way of thinking, I just want everyone to have an open mind and see a different viewpoint. Who knows, you may just end up agreeing with me. If not, well, let me know where I'm wrong so that I can research more. I am not infallible. I am only human.
