Are We An Entitled Nation?

One of the most beloved Presidents in modern history made a profound statement in one of his speeches. I don't remember which one, but I believe it was his inaugural speech in 1961. In that speech is one of the most repeated statements since it was made. What is it? “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”

Granted, that was a different time, a totally different way of thinking for most Americans. It was a time of civil unrest, we were on the brink of war, in the middle of a cold war with the Soviet Union, but most importantly, we were proud to be Americans and were patriotic to our flag and our national anthem. Yes, a totally different time.

What changed us? What made half the country hate what America stands for? When did we become so anti-capitalist? What started this change?

I am of the firm belief that the class of 1980 was the last class that government-run schools actually educated students instead of indoctrinating them. I know that since that time students have not been taught the truth in history; math has been perverted into something that is unrecognizable, cursive writing is no longer taught, vocational studies have been done away with, and the Constitution is being ignored.

How do I know this? I've had children in these schools withing the last ten years. I've had friends with children in these schools over the last twenty years. I remember a friend that lived in Arizona but worked in Portland, Oregon. He was my neighbor, and he went home every weekend. One Sunday night he stopped by and said, “You aren't gonna believe this.”

He proceeded to tell me that his son, who was studying the Vietnam Conflict, had told him some 'facts' that weren't even close to the truth. When my friend corrected him, his son said, “But, Dad, it's right here in my history book. It had to happen that way.” His response? “I was there. It didn't happen that way.”

With CRT and transgender studies being pushed by the blue states and government-run schools, it's no wonder our children are confused, depressed, suicidal, and socially inept. With our elected officials pushing racism, division, class warfare, it's no wonder under 50's are the same. They were programmed to believe what the government told them; without question. I was taught to think critically, to question everything, to demand proof.

John Kennedy's famous statement doesn't mean anything now. It isn't what the individual can do for his/her country but what can the country do for the individual. We have become an entitled, self-centered, egotistical, hedonist, narcissistic society. We have been programmed to be that way by people that have to interest in the well-being of the country but only the well-being of their power and wealth.

When the decisions that affect the country are put into the hands of those that have nothing to lose, it's a losing scenario. Your city council, mayor, state legislature, governor, the United States Congress, even the President, none of them are going to lose anything by the decisions they make. Only YOU, the taxpayer, the American citizen, have a vested interest in those decisions.

Is Congress spending their money for frivolous projects, illegal aliens, illegitimate wars, gender studies in Pakistan? NO! YOU are. You, the taxpayer. It couldn't have been better proven than when Ron DeSantis sent 50 illegals to Martha's Vineyard. It was fine, fantastic and the right thing to do letting all those millions of illegals enter the country at the expense of the border states and wherever else the Federal Government sent them. It wasn't affecting the elites, to power brokers, the decision makers. When they showed up on THIER doorstep it was a different story. Nancy Pelosi had a group arrested that breached HER WALL in California and the residents of Martha's Vineyard sent those 50 to a shared military base just to get rid of them.

With the Democrat Party pushing college tuition forgiveness (which is just another way to say that the taxpayer is going to pay the debt instead of the person that took the loan), increasing welfare and food stamps, affordable housing, free phones and service, etc., it is throwing away everything that built this country. Self-reliance, self-responsibility, self-respect. Now, instead of asking what you can do for your country, the Democrats are making it 'Ask not what you can do for you country. Ask what your fellow taxpayers can do for you.”
